The Matchstick Bromeliad is known for its long purple/blueish flowers that resemble a column of protruding matches. It is quite an alien-like species, native to Argentina and Brazil; it flowers in the late fall/ early winter, and the flowers can last for months sometimes. This plant also has great air purifying qualities, and makes a great houseplant to promote mental well-being.
