Peace Lily

Product Details

This beauty is not only widely known for its stunning flowers, but also for being one of the plants proven to combat household chemicals and mold when used indoors, according to NASA's Clean Air Study!

Best benefits when placed in the Kitchen, Bathroom, and Laundry rooms.

Zone: Peace Lilies are not typically assigned a USDA hardiness zone designation because they are not generally grown outdoors in the ground. They are primarily considered houseplants or suitable for container growing in very warm climates....However, our Peace Lily's at The PlanTree are vigorous and persistent outdoors, here in Florida, and are well established enough that they do just fine in our cold spells.

Here's a breakdown of why Spathiphyllum aren't zoned:

  • Sensitivity to Cold: Peace lilies are not cold-hardy and can be damaged or killed by frost. They thrive in warm temperatures and prefer consistent humidity.
  • Houseplant Focus: Spathiphyllum are well-adapted to indoor environments where temperatures and humidity can be controlled. Their popularity lies in their ease of care and air-purifying properties as houseplants.
  • Container Growing (Zones 10b or Higher): In very warm climates with minimal frost risk, you can grow Spathiphyllum outdoors in containers. This allows you to move the plants indoors during cold spells. Choose a well-draining pot and provide protection from harsh sunlight.
